About the position

At the Environmental and Urban Planning Administration, we are looking for a landscape architect with a strong interest in developing Örebro's urban environments. This is a fixed-term position. As a landscape architect at Environmental and Urban Planning, you propose, plan, and create the conditions for implementing investments in the public environment. You provide expert knowledge in projects, investigations, and when preparing decision-making materials. The goal of the assignment is for all places in Örebro to be experienced as accessible, pleasant, and safe at all hours of the day and throughout the year.

You are expected to be able to lead a work group with other competencies to propose transformations of public spaces that represent the best-balanced solution for the municipality overall. This can include central squares and parks, as well as streets and micro-parks.

  • Write object descriptions and texts that explain the purpose and main function of individual investments.
  • Propose and argue for new investments in public spaces, both orally and in writing.
  • Participate in physical planning and specifically address issues concerning public spaces, based on e.g., the importance of meeting places, climate adaptation, greenery, well-designed living environments, the importance of cost-effective maintenance, etc.
  • Assist the project manager in the implementation of investment projects concerning public spaces.
  • Be able to lead or participate in the development of strategies for how Örebro's public spaces should be developed.
  • Participate in consultations and maintain dialogue with the public, business community, and others affected by investments in public spaces or physical planning.
